Having spent my childhood in Darwen, I have many fond memories of riding my bike with my friends, having countless adventures in and around the town. I also remember the bike shops that we used to have when I was a kid; Bridge Street Cycles and of course Bikers on Heys Lane!
I owned a bike shop several years ago, Max Out! In Cleveleys, near Blackpool. It was a specialist BMX shop, but I also sold and repaired scooters, skateboards, road, mtb, trikes and recumbents! Sadly, Max Out! was a little short lived and had to close, but it was always in my mind to open a new shop one day and I wanted to bring a more traditional shop (as opposed to a Halfords), back to my home town Darwen.
So, Route 666 Cycles was born and opened in August 2017!
Although Route 666 carries bikes and all parts to qualify for a BMX shop (we have countless parts and accessories for BMX and we are a dealer for some of the best BMX suppliers), we do cater for every single model and style of bike available. Branded Scooters, parts, accessories, tyres, tubes and safety gear are always stocked. Electric bikes will be arriving very soon, at a price to suit most. Please ask about trying our demonstration models. We are only a very small shop, so bike stock is not abundant, but we are jam packed, wall to wall with every day and hard to find items! New bikes can be ordered as per request. In fact any thing bike related can be obtained (if it's not in stock) from any of our many trusted distributors. This includes exclusive and sought after brands.
We always carry a range of second hand bikes. All are fully serviced, carry new parts and ready to go. We do not stock junk, so all our bikes are decent brands and built to last.
We are also passionate about Fixed Gear (Fixie) Track bikes and can obtain some of the best models, parts etc available. Road bikes are also featured highly, especially vintage! We are able to obtain high-end brands of parts to cater for the dedicated Road Men (or Ladies!) and have many everyday parts in stock.
There is nothing we will not tackle or repair, including wheel building and bespoke work. We offer full and part servicing, separate brake or gear service and safety checks. We will even repair your pram, trolley or anything that carries a bike component (tyres, tubes, cables etc). We do not charge car dealership prices for our work, but charge per job. Rates are very reasonable, as we are not here to rip anyone off. These are bikes afterall and not cars! We usually do not charge for a quick repair or adjustment and are also happy to pump up your tyres for free (it keeps me fit!). We do not do the ‘hard sell’ as many bike shops do. We want our customers to feel comfortable and satisfied with a job well done and most of all, we want them to return!
Hopefully, we will see you very soon...
